John Wayne Airport will soon offer expanded service to Hawaii, thanks to Continental Airlines. The company plans to begin new flights between Orange County and Maui beginning March 7.

Continental will also offer daily flights between the airport and Honolulu, expanding its previously announced four-times-weekly service between O.C. and the city. The new flights will also begin March 7.

The change was made because of continued solid demand for travel to Hawaii, according to Continental Executive Vice President of Marketing Jim Compton.

“We are operating the new flights with the right-sized aircraft for the market and are confident this new service will be a success,” he adds.
