Johnny Rockets expands to Abu Dhabi
American chain’s seventh restaurant in the United Arab Emirates opened this month.

Johnny Rockets of Aliso Viejo this month opened its seventh location in the United Arab Emirates. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant on Yas Island near Abu Dhabi features the same menu and ambiance as the American chain with seating for 400 guests.
Franchise partners Wael and Zaher Samman, who own all seven Johnny Rockets locations in the U.A.E., opened their first franchise in 1996 and plan to open four more in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Masqat by early 2013.
“The Sammans are superb franchisees, solid operators and savvy businessmen,” said Steve Devine, president of Johnny Rockets International. “We look forward to their continued expansion throughout the Middle East."
Wael Samman said the new location is ideally situated to serve families and visitors at Yas Island, a popular entertainment destination. "Our delicious food, friendly service, and classic, feel-good ambiance are the perfect way to start off or end a day of golfing; visiting the waterpark; driving at the Yas Racing School, Drag Racing School or Yas Kartzone; or attending a special event at the state-of-the-art Yas Marina Circuit F1 racetrack."
