Additionally, the same prosecutor allegedly caused Broadcom’s former head of human resources, Nancy Tullos, to lose her job at a different company as part of an effort to get her to cooperate with the investigation, according to Carney. Tullos pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and was a key government witness at the trial.

“The judge spoke for everyone,” Nicholas said outside the courtroom.

Acting U.S. Attorney George Cardona said at the hearing that the government disagreed with the judge’s order and would consider its options.
