Kaiser Permanente O.C., continued ...

Early detection plays a key role in diagnosing and treating many disorders. It is estimated that more than 180,000 new cases of breast cancer will occur this year, and high blood pressure affects one in four American adults. The condition can lead to a variety of cardiovascular diseases.

More than 11,000 new cases of cervical cancer occur each year, and there are more than 200,000 diabetics in Orange County alone, according to the American Diabetes Association. It's a number that suggests that one out of every three people born in or after 2000 will have diabetes.

Kaiser Permanente Orange County serves more than 380,000 members through a network of more than 5,200 employees and 990 physicians. Kaiser Permanente is a nonprofit group practice program that serves 3.3 million members in Southern California. It is headquartered in Oakland.
