Kawasaki prepares for global unveiling of 2013 motorcycles
The 2013 Kawasaki Ninja line will make its debut in New York’s Times Square.

For the unveiling of its new 2013 line of Ninja motorcycles, Irvine-based Kawasaki Motors Corp. USA will take over Times Square on Sept. 13. For the global presentation, the motorcycle manufacturer will stream a live feed from 10:00 am to 8:00 p.m. The “Ninja Times Square Takeover” will feature music, giveaways, celebrity appearances and motorcycles.
The iconic New York landmark will serve as a showcase of the new line of sportbikes, which will be displayed along a two-block stretch of Broadway from West 45th to West 47th Street. Kawasaki’s marketing director, Chris Brull stated that the new line of product would not be standing alone. There will also be some older, significant models as well, including the original 1984 Ninja and the 1971 Z1.
Brull stated the event is supposed to bring the brand’s core authenticity to a broader audience. "Times Square is recognized as the 'crossroads of the world,' and we're thrilled to be able to share our brand of motorcycle enthusiasm with such a large, diverse group of New York residents and visitors," he said
The event will also include appearances by decorated professional racer Ryan Villopoto, SPEED TV host Jason Britton, and national champion Rickey Gadson, as well as staged presentations, stunt riding exhibitions, drag race instruction, and free activities.
