People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals recognized the Irvine-based automaker for its Soul commercials.

Kia Motors America was recently honored by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) with a GOODY award for their new ad for the Soul compact car.

Kia Motors America’s new ad, “A new way to roll,” has been recognized by PETA for its computer-imagery portraying hip hamsters instead of exploiting them or risking harm.

The creators of the ad, El Segundo-based David & Goliath agency, will receive a framed certificate and will be featured on PETA’s website.

The ad uses alternatives to the use of live animals, sparing real animals from experiencing confusion, fear, and risk of injury that comes with being on a film set.
