![]() The museum will open to the public on Sunday, however today’s celebration – which drew TV crews and media from Los Angeles and beyond – gave benefactors, elected officials, business leaders and other invited guests an opportunity to get an early peek at the result of what has been a 12-year effort to create an interactive learning environment for children. The mission: To educate youngsters – from infants to 8 years old – about the workings and connectivity of a community. Among the attractions: a farm, a store, a construction site and a restaurant. And the museum is stocked with more than 200 uniforms – from lab coats to fireman’s uniforms.
