The Costa Mesa-based Orange County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure has elected five new Board of Directors for 2012 and 2013 to lead the organization’s local outreach efforts in advancing breast health initiatives throughout Orange County. Board members plan to support and increase recognition of Komen’s mission to serve women and save lives.
“This year’s Board is bolstered with five new outstanding individuals who are committed to increasing breast health awareness and advancing Komen’s mission throughout our community,” said Lisa Wolter, executive director of the Komen Orange County Affiliate.
The 2012-2013 Board of Directors will include Regino Diaz, senior vice president at Bank of America; Lynn Jolliffe, executive vice president of Human Resources and president-elect of Santa Ana-based Ingram Micro.; Dennis Kuhl, 2008 Pink Tie Guy and president of the Angels baseball team; Lynn Salo, vice president of plastic surgery for Allergan Medical; and Gretchen Valentine, managing director and treasurer for RSM McGladrey. All board members have a personal or professional tie to breast cancer motivating their involvement.
Sue Parks will continue to hold the position of president of the affiliate, while Carrie Bollwinkle has been appointed secretary. Other continuing board members include Dr. Lisa E. Guerra, Dr. Sora Park Tanjasiri, and Sol Reyes Roberts.
The Komen Orange County Affiliate and its Board take part in year-round endeavors, including an ongoing breast health outreach to the local community and major fundraising events like the Race for the Cure, which will take place this year on Sunday, September 23.
