Nineteen nonprofit agencies will be recognized with a donation of more than $1.3 million to implement breast health programs throughout the region at The Orange County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure's annual awards breakfast on Friday.

This year’s recipients include: Access California Solutions; Disability Rights Legal Center; The G.R.E.E.N. Foundation; Laguna Beach Community Clinic; Pink Ribbon Club Foundation; Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties; as well as many other foundations.

“The community organizations we partner with are essential in helping us address the health needs of women in our community,” says Lisa Wolter, executive director of the Orange County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. “Together, we can overcome language and cultural barriers, close economic disparities and provide mammograms, breast health education and support services to the hardest-to-reach women in Orange County.”

Komen Orange County has invested more than $19 million in community breast health programs since 1991.

The awards breakfast will take place at the Irvine Marriott on Friday, Dec. 5 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
