Ladera Ranch-based Strategic Storage Trust is partnering with Penske Truck Leasing Co. to offer truck rentals at many of its self-storage locations nationwide.

Through the agreement, Strategic is giving its customers a one-stop shop for transporting and storing goods – they are able to rent moving trucks at the facility, as well as use other amenities at the site.

“We are pleased to have forged this strategic relationship with one of the finest firms in the industry,” says Strategic Chairman and CEO H. Michael Schwartz. “Our relationship with Penske not only adds revenue to our facilities, but also enhances our service as well, and this dedication to our customers has been a key component to our success.”

Strategic is also taking part in the Penske Promise, a pledge to rent no trucks older than three years and to provide free, unlimited mileage with every rental. The company hopes this will increase its value to its customers, as well. And the agencies are already generating revenue for both companies, according to a Penske representative.

Strategic Storage Trust is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that holds more than 3,000 self-storage units and 377,000 rentable square feet of storage space.

Penske Truck Leasing Co. is a joint venture among Penske Corp., Penske Automotive Group and General Electric and operates more than 200,000 vehicles and works with more than 1,000 clients in the U.S., South America, Europe and Asia.
