A new award is gracing the offices of the Laguna Ocean Foundation and the Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau this week, and it’s a big one: An Emmy.

The two agencies partnered with Barnstormer Productions and others to produce a seven-minute feature on the Laguna Beach tide pools, an attraction that draws scores of tourists and schoolchildren every year.

The film, titled “Tidepool Scene,” aims to educate people about the fragile natural resource and the importance of protecting it. It has been shown on cable television and currently airs on in-room channels at local hotels and can be viewed on several Web sites. It’s also sent to schools that are planning field trips to the city.
