The sunblock features zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as its active ingredient to provide UVA/UVB protection. The two provide a durable barrier against the sun’s rays, while zinc works as an anti-inflammatory for sensitive skin and antibacterial device for acne.
Smart Girls was originally founded in 2006, and Taylor, an entrepreneur and mother of two, has owned it since 2007. Taylor spent most of last year reformulating the products and getting them into the markets. The company is going through its first year of actual sales, according to a company spokeswoman, but the products are faring well – especially as the weather gets warmer.
Smart Girls products, and its sister brand for boys, Surf-Vival, are designed to nurture the skin and protect the environment without using toxic chemicals or synthetic ingredients. All products are tested on surfers, not animals, and made in the USA. << PREVIOUS PAGE
