Legacy Electronics moves to South Dakota

The new facility will allow the company to triple manufacturing output.

San Clemente-based Legacy Electronics is moving its headquarters to a larger 40,000-square-foot facility in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The new home base is twice the size of the San Clemente office and will serve as the company’s new sales, administration and manufacturing center starting in May.

“The site means we can triple our manufacturing output in the near term,” says CEO Jason Engle.

Legacy Electronics designs, tests, and manufactures high-speed and high-density memory modules, circuit boards and other computer products.

A beneficial tax structure and lower energy costs were two major factors in the relocation decision.

and another one bites the dust... One by one, companies are fleeing the land of milk, honey and ever increasing tax burden (and taking their jobs and tax revenue with them). Years of political mismanagement have insured CA's financial implosion. Good job, Sacto!

I wanted to get more specifics about the tax reasons for the move before commenting, but your "understand more" link didn't go anywhere. so I guess -- no comment. too bad
