Location Based Technologies to team up with international wireless service providers
The Irvine-based GPS firm will provide its PocketFinder product line to America Movil and Telcel.

Location Based Technologies has reached an agreement with America Movil and TelCel to integrate its PocketFinder GPS location devices into TelCel’s data Machine-to-Machine (M2M) services. The announcement was made last Monday, and the first purchase orders will be drawn up in the near future, according to the Irvine-based tech firm.
“By partnering with Telcel and America Movil, their 231 million wireless customers in Mexico and Latin America will soon enjoy the benefits of the PocketFinder products and services,” said Dave Morse, CEO of Location Based Technologies.
The PocketFinder platform, which utilizes Location Based Technologies’ proprietary systems, will enable people throughout Mexico and South America to stay better connected with family, friends and businesses. Its line of portable GPS gadgets can be acquired through smartphones or devices that have Internet access, and will provide its users with easy-to-use location data.
“We were selected by Telcel and America Movil because they are committed to bringing the best wireless M2M products and GPS services to their customers and believe that LBT delivers breakthrough products that will change the way businesses and families use wireless data devices,” said Morse. “We're thrilled to make our products available to Telcel and America Movil customers in Mexico and many Latin American countries.”
