![]() Cars whizzed down Bristol Street in Santa Ana, which hummed with the hustle and bustle of lunch hour. However, Thasos Greek Island Grille, located in a complex off of Sunflower Avenue and Bristol Street, was anything but fast-paced. Thasos is a serene and comfortable eatery, with a mural of a Greek Islands vista gracing the dining room. After ordering the pita bundle combo, which includes a choice of two meats and two side items, I chose to sit under the cool shade of the outdoor tables, a perfect spot to eat lunch while enjoying the sunny day. When the food arrived, I dived right in. My first thought: “The hummus is to die for!” Thick with garbanzo beans, it tasted fresh and authentic. The accompanying pita bread was warm and soft, served right from the oven. My pita plate brimmed with fresh vegetables, fish and a classic Greek gyro. Though I was stuffed, I continued to dig in, not wanting any of the food to go to waste. Eventually, I coaxed myself out of the comfortable shade and back to the office. The next time I have a craving for hummus and a relaxing workday retreat, I will heed the call of Greece and head back to Thasos. ![]() Where: 3940 S.
