Lyon Air Museum takes flight Thursday
The museum named for Maj. Gen. William Lyon of William Lyon Homes is housed at John Wayne Airport.

A VIP ceremony celebrating the grand opening of the Lyon Air Museum (LAM) will be held at noon on Thursday at the brand new facility located at 19300 Ike Jones Road, John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana. The museum will be officially open to the public directly after.
Groundbreaking for the Lyon Air Museum took place in 2007 under the direction of its founder, Maj. Gen. William Lyon, USAF (Ret). In establishing the museum, Lyon sought to create a world-class facility that would be accessible to the local community and would offer interactive educational exhibits designed to inspire aviation aficionados of all ages.
Some of the world’s rarest operational aircraft and vehicles will be on exhibit at the LAM.
