Mission Viejo Mitsubishi opens today

New dealership is expected to 'fill a void' for South O.C. owners and buyers.

Despite a tough environment for the auto industry, Mission Viejo Mitsubishi is opening today. The new dealership is expected to "fill a void" for individuals interested in the brand.

The new dealership will offer the latest models from the automaker, which has its North American headquarters in Cypress, as well as a service center for local owners.

“We’re thrilled to bring a Mitsubishi dealership to South Orange County, especially now with all the exciting new models like the new Lancer Sportback,” says Steve Coleman, dealer principal for Mission Viejo Mitsubishi. Coleman also owns Saab of Santa Ana.

Coleman feels there's a market for Mitsubishi in the South O.C. region, because the brand hasn't been represented in the area in recent years.

There are three other Mitsubishi dealerships in O.C., according to Orange County Automobile Dealers Association Executive Director John Sackrison, but they're all focused on the northern part of the county. He says the new spot is in a good location near Saddleback College, and it will cater to the younger demographic in the area by offering "affordable, good-looking cars."
