The Maloof Money Cup, a skateboarding contest with the largest prize in professionals skateboarding, is gearing up for its second annual event during the opening weekend of the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa with a new street course design. The competition brings skateboarders ranging in skill from amateurs to professionals together for a three-day event that awards more than $450,000 in three categories – Men’s and Women’s Pro Street, Men’s Pro Vert and U.S. Amateur Championships. Designed by Geoff Rowley and Joey Ciaglia, the course was constructed based on real skate spots such as the Sunset up-down corner ledge on Sunset Boulevard and even UC Irvine’s six-stair hubba and rails. The new "bump-to-picnic" feature was selected by Transworld Skateboarding staff from thousands of entries submitted by skateboard enthusiasts.
