Costa Mesa-based Marshall Advertising is launching a new marketing campaign for The Toll Roads aimed at local drivers through print, online and cable TV media.

The TV component will employ Marshall's Cardboard Cutout campaign, which showcases two different scenes – "Dinner" and "Soccer." The first features a wife having a conversation with a cutout of her husband who is trapped on the freeway; in the second, a cardboard goalie fails at blocking the ball in soccer, while the real team member is stuck in traffic.

The goal? To showcase how much time could be saved by driving The Toll Roads, according to Kathryn Jones, Marshall's account executive.

"The humor breaks through the clutter and communicates the strategy in a memorable way,” she says.
