Mazda will unveil the new 2014 Mazda6 at the Moscow International Automobile Salon on August 29. The new model is completely redesigned and will feature Mazda’s trademark technology, SkyActiv, which aims to improve fuel efficiency, engine performance and more.
From the design of the engine to the chassis and body, the Mazda6 will be the second Mazda that is fully integrated with SkyActiv technology. Visitors attending the Moscow event will have the chance to check out the 2014 Mazda6 sedan. However, the complete lineup of 2014 Mazda6 vehicles will debut at the Paris Motor Show in September.
The sedan on display is built to Russian specifications and features a SkyActiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission and a SkyActiv-G 2.0-liter gas engine. Additionally, the model will come equipped with the world’s first capacitor-based regenerative braking system, i-ELOOP, which can increase fuel efficiency by 10 percent.
News of the upcoming debut of the Skyactiv-incorporated 2014 Mazda6 follows an announcement by Mazda to double the production of its SkyActiv engines. The number of engines using the technology will increase to 400,000 units worldwide in October. The 2012 Mazda3 is the first vehicle in U.S. to integrate a SkyActiv engine.
