Newport Beach-based McCarthy Building Cos. has completed the construction of a 25,000-square-foot athletic facility for Anaheim’s Growth Opportunities through Athletics, Learning and Service – or GOALS – program for area youth.

With the help of 33 additional subcontractors, suppliers and the McCarthy Heart Hats volunteer group, the team finished the GOALS Dreamscape athletic complex within eight months.

“The outpouring of generosity combined with the quality of construction, especially in these tough economic times, has been an amazing experience for our staff, volunteers and, of course, the children,” said GOALS Executive Director Dave Wilk.

The facility features two full-size lighted tennis courts that were designed with the help of U.S. Tennis Association and AmeriCorps Vista volunteers and a 6,000-square-foot artificial turf arena for multiple sports, among other amenities.

All program activities, equipment, uniforms, transportation access and coaching at GOALS Dreamscape will be made available free to low-income youth.
