Microsemi secures Endwave's defense business

The Irvine-based company acquires Endwave’s defense electronics and security portfolio.

Microsemi Corp., with corporate headquarters in Irvine, is a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of semiconductors has acquired the defense electronics and security (D&S) business of San Jose-based Endwave.

Endwave is a leading provider of radio frequency (RF) solutions for mobile communications markets.

The assets will be acquired for a total equity value of $28 million in cash plus the assumption of specified liabilities; the deal is expected to be accretive immediately.

Microsemi will combine Endwave’s high-frequency porfolio with its own, creating one of the leading high-reliability RF product offerings in the market today, resulting in coverage of the technology spectrum up to 100 GHz.

Endwave’s D&S group has developed several state-of-the-art products and won multiple contracts to supply many of Microsemi’s customers, such as Boeing, Cobham, L3, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon.
