Leslie Flores, a resident of Huntington Beach and teacher at Star View Elementary School in Midway, has received the 2009 Time Warner Cable National Teacher award. In addition to receiving a $2,000 cash grant and a $3,000 technology grant for her school, Flores will receive the award at a gala event June 3 in Washington, D.C.All of the teacher honorees developed innovative classroom projects. Flores’ award-winning entry, “Journey to the Moon, Pathway to Discovery," teaches student’s about NASA’s early space missions.
