Mimi's Cafe in Laguna Niguel is one of the first of the chain's 138 eateries to get a new collection of decorations. The restaurants, which feature an eclectic mix of French and New Orleans jazz artifacts, are getting updated items throughout their Southern California locations.

One of the many additions includes the addition of a full-service bar (Mimi's previously only served beer, wine and champagne), with specialty drinks like the Mimitini and Fresh Squeezed Margaritas.

But the main events will occur during the two-day celebration. Starting on Oct. 22, Mimi's will hold a Food, Friends and Fun day. In conjunction with Tinkerbell Guild, a nonprofit of women aimed to raise money for CHOC, guests can obtain a flier at tinkerbellguild.com. For everyone who presents it, Mimi's will donate 15 percent of the day's proceeds to CHOC.

And on Oct. 23 at the early hour of 7 a.m. (when the restaurant opens), the first 100 guests who are over 18 will receive gift cards up to $100. Mayor Glaab and CHOC will participate in the official ribbon cutting and more than $5,000 will be given away throughout the day.
