Mission San Juan Capistrano announced Oct. 29 that Anthony (Tony) Moiso, president and CEO of Rancho Mission Viejo, will step aside as president of the Mission Preservation Foundation. Moiso helped found the organization that was created to support the preservation of historic Mission San Juan Capistrano. The Mission Preservation Foundation raises funds to ensure Mission San Juan Capistrano remains sustainable for future generations.

Tony served on the Board as president for more than 12 years. Under his leadership, projects such as the Great Stone Church stabilization, the Sera Chapel Conservation Project, the South Wing Conservation Project and Museum Development Plan were implemented. Moiso will remain on the Mission Preservation Foundation board as an active member.

George O'Connell, of O'Connell Landscape Maintenance, a Mission Preservation Foundation board member, will step in as president. O’Connell and his wife Eden are longtime supporters of the mission and they reside in San Juan Capistrano.
