NADAguides, a Costa Mesa-based new- and used-vehicle information provider, recently indicated consumer interest in domestic and Korean auto manufacturers has continued to rise. The vehicle-information service revealed its Consumer Market Interest Report for the third quarter of 2011, which noted a 215 percent increase in consumer appeal for the 2012 Kia Sorento. The top five leaders on the NADAguides report are the 2012 Kia Sorento, Chevrolet Equinox, Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Elantra and Ford Mustang.

Troy Snyder, director of product development at NADAguides, said, “It is clear that the Korean makes are becoming more top-of-mind with consumers, as their product offerings in different segments continue to break through in terms of quality, price point, awareness and acceptance. It's also interesting to note an uptick in interest in the number of smaller, more fuel-efficient cars and crossover vehicles.”
The Sorento was one of the most researched vehicles on NADAguides. Michael Sprague, vice president of marketing and communications for the Irvine-based automaker, added, “Kia is the fastest-growing car company in the U.S., and as our best-selling vehicle over the last two years, the Sorento has been the cornerstone of Kia Motors America's unprecedented sales and market share gains this year.”
