The Orange County chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, an organization geared to support women business owners with professional development resources, is accepting nominations for its 17th annual Remarkable Women Awards.

Every year, the awards honor three women for their accomplishments in separate areas.

The Lifetime Achievement award recognizes an individual who has owned one or more businesses for at least 20 years and demonstrated the ability to overcome challenges, survive adversity and further help other women business owners.

Lastly, the Philanthropic Champion is a women business owner who has shown above and beyond effort to contribute to the community through monetary donations, board service, committee service or volunteer time. It could also be someone who established a non-profit organization in Orange County.

“The Remarkable Women Awards is NAWBO-OC’s signature event and allows the organization to showcase the exceptionally talented and accomplished businesswomen we have in Orange County,” said Loreen Gilbert, president-elect of NAWBO-OC. “This event gives us the opportunity to learn from the honorees’ life journeys and, year after year, has proven to be an inspirational evening that demonstrates the integral role women business owners play in our community.”

While nominees do not have to be members of NAWBO, the recipients must be residents of or have businesses headquartered in Orange County.

Honorees will be selected through a rigorous nomination and review process. The final day to nominate is May 11.
