HomeAid Orange County recently announced the appointment of their newest board member, Russ Van Cleve, president of Empire Homes, based in Irvine.

Van Cleve brings more than 30 years of homebuilding and development experience to the HomeAid board. With his leadership, Empire Homes is serving as the Builder Captain of HomeAid OrangeCounty’s fourth project for Precious Life Shelter in Los Alamitos, a 5,600-square-foot project valued at more than $880,000.

A graduate of UCLA with a master’s degree in business administration, Van Cleve started his real estate development career by building condominium projects in the Los Angeles area. In 1987, he founded Empire Homes, a company that has constructed more than 2,400 single-family homes primarily in Southern California and developed a 954-lot
master-planned community of Seneca Springs in Beaumont. Currently, Empire Homes is focused on developing residential infill projects in Orange County.

In addition to Van Cleve’s philanthropic work with HomeAid, he serves with his wife, Kathy, as trustee of the Russell G. Van Cleve Family Foundation, which supports Mariners Church, YMCA, Mayo Clinic and many local nonprofit organizations.
