On November 4th, the 50+ Housing Council, a special interest council of the Building Industry Association of Southern California, held the 16th Annual SAGE Awards at the Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa. The event also celebrated the 20th year of the Council. The SAGE awards recognize individuals, projects and programs that have made outstanding contributions to enhance the quality of life of Southern California residents aged 50+.
The Project of the Year (Continuum) was awarded to Valencia Terrace in Corona, a project owned and managed by Kisco Senior Living. Irwin Partners Architects designed the campus to offer a resort-like feel, with 22 casitas, 129 independent-living and 52 assisted-living apartments. Attention was given to creating an amenity-rich community with both indoor and outdoor recreation areas. Irwin Partners Architects, located in Costa Mesa, has for more than 40 years dedicated its practice to providing places for seniors to thrive.
