Industry News

John Martin
The real estate industry is in a severe economic recession; John Martin offers his prospective on how to accelerate the recovery by three to four years, so the industry can go back to work creating great places for people to live.

His new book, Hope, Vision & Value Creation, is about hope – beginning the recovery; vision – seeing future opportunities, and the imagination to design the homes and communities that create value.

The purpose of this book is to identify market niches to satisfy the needs and wants for today’s buyer; and to attract and convince the financial community to return to and invest in new projects, so the industry can once again thrive and prosper. The book is available at major retailers and at amazon.com.

Award-winning KTGY Group, Inc., Architecture and Planning, recently announced the completion of three single-family homes in Yorba Linda that the firm designed for Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. These are Habitat for Humanity of Orange County’s first homes built in Yorba Linda.

One affordable Habitat home was dedicated in a traditional Habitat ceremony, and the keys to this home were presented to the family who built the home and who will now purchase this home under the regular Habitat model. This is Habitat’s 135th home in Orange County. Two homes will be sold to moderate-income families
that will secure their own financing under Habitat for Humanity
of Orange County’s new “Mixed-Income Model.” Habitat’s “Mixed-Income Model,” which includes homes for low-income and moderate-income families within the same development, will provide more workforce housing for families in Orange County.
