Colliers International, the second largest real estate services organization globally, has negotiated the lease of a 167,778-square-foot industrial building located at 5800 Skylab Road in Huntington Beach, Calif., to Modular Wind Energy, Inc. (MWE), a Huntington Beach-based manufacturer of blades for wind turbines. The five-year lease is valued in excess of $4.9 million and is the largest lease transaction completed this year in West Orange County.
   
Located within Huntington Beach Industrial Park and situated near Boeing’s operations, the industrial building includes 16,000 square feet of high-finish executive office space. MWE is relocating its Long Beach, Calif. operations and will occupy the building for the manufacturing and distributing of propellers that are mounted on wind driven turbines, a technology that allows for more efficient generation of wind-power. “The previous tenant, Dynamic Cooking Systems, made a number of improvements to the property including extensive power and air distribution, a large, private fenced yard, and lunch and restroom facilities for factory employees, allowing MWE to immediately move in and begin operations with no modifications,” said Clyde Stauff, executive vice president in Colliers’ Irvine office, who represented the landlord, DCS Holdings, Inc.
