Debuting soon: the New Home Collection in Irvine

Inspired by the ever-changing needs and wants among today’s home shoppers, the Irvine Company is set to debut the 2010 New Home Collection, an impressive collection of new homes that will begin selling early next year in Irvine. For additional information, visit villagesofirvine.com.

The 2010 New Home Collection will showcase 25 floor plans from six different builders and will be situated throughout eight neighborhoods in the villages of Woodbury and Woodbury East, both of which are part of the acclaimed Villages of Irvine.

Presenting a fresh approach to room layout, design and function that emerged from nearly two years of extensive homebuyer research, the homes within the 2010 New Home Collection will feature a broad price range designed to appeal to a variety of home shoppers. From first-time buyers and couples to growing families and empty nesters, the 2010 New Home Collection definitely will offer something for everyone.

“We are very excited about the 2010 New Home Collection,” says Tom Veal, vice president of residential marketing and product planning for Irvine Company Community Development. “This incredible collection will create new opportunities for homebuyers from all stages of life to enjoy the experience of homeownership in Irvine and the exceptional lifestyle that comes with it – nearby shopping, dining and entertainment, abundant parks and trails, and the award-winning schools of the Irvine Unified School District.”

“The 2010 New Home Collection’ will offer 25 floor plans that will bring more diversity and character to the villages of Woodbury and Woodbury East,” says Veal, “and also reflect home shoppers’ wish lists in home design and function, including seamlessly blending outdoor and indoor living.”

During the two years of extensive research focused on potential homebuyers’ needs and wants in their ideal home, the Irvine Co. discovered that home shoppers wanted more livability and better functionality in floor plans. Topping their wish lists were greater interaction between rooms for family gatherings and a seamless flow from inside to outside living spaces.

Equipped with this information from home shoppers, the Irvine Co. planning and design team for the 2010 New Home Collection used an entirely new approach to the collection’s unique floor plans. From a Great Room that fosters family togetherness, to a California Room that takes advantage of Orange County’s temperate climate, the new floor plans help give the 2010 New Home Collection a distinctive edge. A few of the new design highlights include the following:

The Great Room – This spacious yet purposeful room is the heart of the home. It’s an inviting living space adjacent to the kitchen that serves as the traditional family and dining rooms, perfect for family gatherings and entertaining guests.

Spacious Kitchens – In the new collection, Great Rooms flow into large kitchens designed for cooking, eating, doing homework, watching TV and spending time with family. These beautiful gourmet kitchens feature large center islands, ample cabinet space and state-of-the-art appliances.

The California Room – The Great Room connects to the kitchen and to a new outdoor space called the California Room, which takes advantage of Southern California’s picture-perfect climate, while also responding to home shoppers’ desire for indoor/outdoor
living spaces. The California Room is designed to bring privacy to an outdoor living area, but also offers the flexibility to be used as an outdoor kitchen, eating area or play area.

Prices for the new homes within the 2010 New Home Collection are expected to start in the low $300,000s, with the first model homes scheduled to open early next year.
