Irvine internet technology firm awarded for outstanding mobile app
Neudesic’s Premera Blue Cross Mobile App allows members to view and manage health insurance plans via their smartphone

The Web Marketing Association has awarded Neudesic the Mobile-Web Award for Outstanding Achievement this month for its Premera Blue Cross Mobile App.
The Irvine-based business technology firm and mobile app developer created the app for nonprofit health insurance provider Premera, to allow the company’s policy members to view available coverage, find doctors and member discounts and easily access customer service.
"Smartphones and tablet computers are exploding and companies are racing to allow users to connect and interact with them using mobile devices,” said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association. “The goal of the Mobile-Web Awards is to both recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective mobile Web sites and mobile apps on the internet."
The Web Marketing Association judged apps on seven criteria: creativity, impact, design, content, interactivity, ease of use and use of medium. Mobile websites and apps that were entered in the Mobile Web Awards were evaluated against other entries of the same format and industry category, as well as against a general standard.
