New American Funding names new chief operations officer

Former vice president Christy Bunce will now serve as chief operations officer for the mortgage company

New American Funding in Tustin has promoted former vice president Christy Bunce as the company’s new chief operations officer.

As vice president, Bunce helped the company grow, and was integral in developing new strategies and directions. The mid-sized mortgage banking company, under Bunce’s influence, added new divisions and operations, including a realtor-based lending division and a wholesale lending division, and has since become a Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac partner.

Since Bunce joined the company, it has been recognized as one of Inc. magazine’s fastest-growing private companies of 2012 and the the O.C. Business Journal included it as one of Orange County’s Best Places to Work.

"I am very excited about New American Funding's future," Bunce said. "We have a keen interest in being diverse in our product offering and company growth.”

Before joining New American in 2008, Bunce worked for Countrywide and Greenlight Financial Services.
