Nihon Kohden America launches social network site for healthcare discussion
Qualnomics is designed for physicians, nurses and healthcare industry professionals to connect online

Nihon Kohden America, a Foothill Ranch-based provider of patient monitoring products and technology, has created an online social networking site built for hospital executives, physicians, nurses and others in the healthcare community to explore issues affecting healthcare today. The independent social community, Qualnomics, will provide a place for industry experts to discuss the quality of healthcare and its impact on hospital economics.
The site is a collection of expert blogs, feature articles, discussion forums and recurring segments focused on the challenges that hospitals face today and ways the industry can improve patient care.
The name itself is a combination of ‘quality’ and ‘economics’, reinforcing the company’s goal to deliver higher quality care to patients while reducing the cost of that care.
“Qualnomics is a national conversation, led by Nihon Kohden America, about empowering hospitals to achieve both quality of care and quality of economics,” said Nihon Kohden America Vice President Mike Dashefsky. “We opted to spearhead this discussion because we’ve led the initiative to reconcile healthcare quality and hospital economics since creating Defensive Monitoring in 2006.”
