![]() “Southern California is a hub for the largest military base on the West Coast and home to some of the most advanced fighting forces in our country,” said Jeff Spellens, president of the Dana Point Concours d’Elegance. “We want to honor them in a way that has never been done before. We will do that with an exhibit featuring some of the greatest war vehicles of all time, as well as a guided tour one of the most revered military bases in the U.S.” For the first time, the weekend will begin with an exclusive private driving tour of the Camp Pendleton U.S. Marine Corps Base on Friday, June 21. Only 200 vehicle spots are available for the daylong convoy tour, which will depart from the St. Regis Resort and proceed down the historic Basilone Road. Included in the $500 ticket price for one driver and passenger is lunch at the School of Infantry mess hall and dinner at the Pacific Views Event Center. Additional passengers are $200 each. “We’re honored to be one of the only civilian groups to receive this special, private tour opportunity,” Spellens said. The Concours d’Elegance, the weekend’s concluding event, will feature a showcase of historic military vehicles and motorcycles. The annual auto show, held at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort’s Monarch Beach Golf Links, is inviting active military and Dept. of Defense personnel to attend for free for the first time. In addition, military attendees will receive a discounted admission for a friend or family member. “The men and women who serve our country deserve to be honored and celebrated,” Spellens said. “We hope they join us during the Concours d’Elegance on Sunday to take part in all the exciting activities we have planned throughout the day.” For tickets to the Camp Pendleton tour, click here.
