![]() The Orange County Transportation Authority launched a redesign of its Web site in order to make online navigation easier for the business travelers, commuters and drivers who frequently use the system. OCTA added new tools on its Bus section, which generates more than 80 percent of hits on the site. An interactive map is among the new options, and users can plan trips around cities, parks and Metrolink stations by downloading routes. There is also an option to create a personalized eBusbook with bus and train systems that visitors to the site frequent the most. The Train section of the site offers a Things to Do calendar, filled with special events near different stations, as well as an Interactive Fun Guide that offers dining, entertainment and shopping options. Among the other features: the Share the Ride area allows users to select commute distance, and it offers tips about the amount of calories burned by walking or biking. Savings can also be added up with the Carbon Cost Calculator. The OCTA's mission is to enhance the quality of life in the region by delivering safer, faster and more efficient mobility solutions.
