O.C. vs. the nation's housing market, continued ...

All the Orange County builders rated the direction of pricing as flat month-over-month. But, no builder in Orange County rated price increases over last month, compared to 10 percent nationally.

“While conditions vary by region and location, we are almost at a point where the majority of our respondents indicate that the housing market has stabilized,” says Jody Kahn, vice president of the firm.

These facts compare to newly released stats from DataQuick, which also reported some positive findings for O.C.: Sales were up 12 percent in July, compared to the same time last year. And though the median home price fell about 9 percent to $420,000, it did increase 0.5 percent from June.
