Orange County's median home price jumped 8.1 percent in November, according to statistics from San Diego-based MDA DataQuick. The number rose to $432,250, up from $400,000 in 2008.

The number did drop slightly from October of this year, when the median home price was $436,500. Sales also fell between October and November of this year. A total of 2,528 homes were sold last month, down from 2,800 in October.

But DataQuick says sales "almost always" fall between the two months. And the number is actually 16.1 percent higher than November 2008, which saw only 2,177 purchases.
