O.C. lands among top 5 solar counties
San Francisco-based SunRun compiled the list of rankings for the state.

Orange County landed among the top five solar-powered counties in the state, according to a report by San Francisco-based SunRun, which provides financing for home solar installations across the country.
Orange County residents installed solar systems on 587 homes between January and May of this year. That landed the region in the No. 4 spot on the list, topped by San Diego, Santa Clara and Los Angeles counties. Riverside County came in at No. 5.
The communities of Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, Yorba Linda, Mission Viejo and Irvine led the county in the number of solar installations so far this year. Forty-seven homes in Santa Ana installed solar systems, followed by 45 in Huntington Beach, 37 in Yorba Linda, 34 in Mission Viejo and 31 in Irvine.
