The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau hopes its new Walking on Sunshine image campaign and video encourages travelers to stay longer in the region.

The two-minute, upbeat video – set to the popular ’80s song of the same name – spotlights more than 60 people living it up in 25 Anaheim and Orange County locations.

"We are excited to share a slice of the Anaheim and Orange County lifestyle with people around the world through this new video, said Charles Ahlers, bureau president. “It is a great way for us to kick off the summer by showcasing all there is to see and do in our region and giving people more reasons to discover the place where sun is always in season.”

The video is only one phase of the bureau’s new campaign. Soon to come are vacation packages, and photo and essay contests, complete with cash awards and prizes.

Events to look forward to this summer include the annual Orange County Fair, which will run July 16-Aug. 15, as well as Laguna Beach’s Pageant of the Masters, which will be held July 7-Aug. 31.

At the Disneyland Resort, fireworks, live entertainment and new shows, such as “Summer Nightastic!” and “World of Color!” are sure to draw big summer crowds, as will the 2010 MLB All-Star Game, which returns after 21 years to Angel Stadium on July 13. All-Star Week kicks off with the MLB All-Star FanFest at the Anaheim Convention Center on July 9.
