Foothill Ranch-based Oakley is preparing to launch the second issue of its digital ONE ICON: Oakley Magazine and has partnered with the global publisher Zinio on the project.
“With Zinio, Oakley can deliver a powerful, immersive experience that comes with go-anywhere freedom,” said Russ Ortiz, Oakley vice president of global brand communications. “We can keep readers informed on everything from culture and entertainment to athletes and product innovations. From sport performance to lifestyle and beyond, readers of ONE ICON will have inside access to information, and Zinio lets us present it in an entertaining and enthralling way that keeps up with their active lives.”
The digital magazine debuted in November and featured stories on cyclist Lance Armstrong, Australian tennis star Sam Stosur and newly crowned MotoGP champion Jorge Loenzo. The Spring 2011 issue will include a cover story on global snowboarding star Shaun White.
The Zinio reader is designed for desktop computers running Windows, Mac OS and Linux operating systems, as well as the Apple iPad and iPhone.
