Rock the VMAs Contest to feature PacSun apparel
The Anaheim-based retailer will send winners to the Video Music Awards

As part of its Dress Irresponsibly campaign, Anaheim-based PacSun – a youth-oriented action-sports clothing retailer that sells such popular local brands as Hurley, Billabong, O’Neill and Vans – has teamed up with broadcasting giant MTV to send two winners to the Rock the VMAs contest. They will attend the 2011 Video Music Awards, slated to take place in late August.
In addition to a free trip to Los Angeles for the awards show, the contest’s grand prize winner will strut the red carpet in a fashion ensemble inspired by PacSun. The winner and a friend will also be featured in an on-air series produced for the VMA pre-show, highlighting their search for the ideal outfit.
The Rock the VMAs contest runner-up will win a free trip to the show, and five other contestants will receive PacSun VMA gift bags.
Contestants must submit a 250-word essay and optional photo depicting the way they “dress irresponsibly.” The initiative, which launched in early April, promotes embracing individuality through style and attitude.
Contestants can submit their essays and photos, which will be accepted until July 21, by visiting pacsun.mtv.com.

I'm a 25 year old full time mother of two awesome kids and wife to the best man ever. This opertunity would be a once in a life time. Raising children is a full time job and I would love to have a mini vacation!! Right now my husband is working to death to give us all the things we need. We don't get much time together and especially don't have the money to treat ourselves which we desperately need. So I would be extremely excited if my husband and I could strut the red carpet and enjoy the VMAs together. Thanks so much to everyone.

I think it would be awesome to be able to go to the MTV VMA's! Me and ALL of my buddies shop at pacsun, I've gotten my clothes there for a pretty long time, I love the style and different oppertunities they offer for you clothes wise. And they are the only place I go to buy hats. A matter of fact I just went there today and bought a whole outfit. Well thanks for reading what I had to say.
