![]() The OC Fair was held from July 16 to Aug. 15 and featured 24 concerts. Seventy-five percent of the seats for those performances were sold, and nine concerts sold out. That amounts to more than 155,000 ticket purchases and $4.6 million in revenue. The ranking – announced in the magazine’s September issue – compared the ticket grosses of the Pacific Amphitheatre season against similarly sized venues with between 5,001 and 10,000 seats. The Pacific Amphitheatre has 8,500 fixed seats, along with limited lawn seating for certain shows – a first-time addition since the venue reopened in 2003. Litigation shut the venue down for time. But with the completion of its eighth season since the reopening, the Pacific Amphitheatre has been in operation for more years than it was closed. “That milestone may be the most important of them all,” said President and CEO Steve Beazley. “For the Pacific Amphitheatre to have been a good neighbor and a key provider of quality concerts for these eight years bodes well for the future.” Related headlines Irvine's Ultimate Ears joins forces with Capitol Studios OC METRO, September issue: 'Sculpted from the soul' OC METRO, August issue: 'Living, breathing art' |
