Lake Forest-based Panasonic Avionics' eX2 in-flight entertainment and communications system was recently installed cabin-wide on Sichuan Airlines’ new A330 aircraft. Sichuan is the first customer in mainland China to employ the product.

"With the eX2 system, Sichuan Airlines is breaking new ground," says Panasonic Avionics CEO Paul Margis.

The airline, which operates 51 aircraft servicing 50 locations worldwide, will now offer a higher standard of customer service for China's travelers, he adds.
The platforms offer interactive passenger experiences with full-cabin audio and video on demand. Air travelers can choose from a wide selection of movies, music and television programming including live news and sports.

Sichuan Airlines Chairman Lan Xinguo says the company selected Panasonic's product because it is among the most innovative in the industry and it offers high-quality functionality.

"We aim to lead our market with passenger satisfaction, and expect that the addition of Panasonic's eX2 system will create greater customer loyalty for our airline," he says.

The aircraft is set to enter service Feb. 9.

Panasonic Avionics also recently announced that it was named the in-flight entertainment and communications system provider for France's Airbus A350 XWB.
