Newport Beach-based PowerDirect is a direct-to-door marketing company specializing in promotional packages with door hanger advertising and sampling. It announced the release of a one-of-a-kind energy-saving promotion package for municipal energy companies on Monday.

This new and innovative package promotes energy-saving practices to help energy consumers lower their residential energy costs. The program can potentially save millions in the cost of fuel-generated electricity for the energy industry.

"This package was developed in 2008 when PowerDirect executed a citywide direct-to-door energy conservation program for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP)," says Bill Borneman, PowerDirect president. "As a result of the LA campaign to 1.2 million households, the city can save up to 240 gigawatt-hours of energy and 131,000 metric tons of CO2, the equivalent of taking 24,000 cars off the road or to power 40,000 homes for one year.

“LA residents who take advantage of the program could save up to $100 per household on their energy bills, a significant savings,” continues Borneman. “We want to make this opportunity available to energy companies across the country."
