![]() Dr. Goshtasby trained for 17 years to fine-tune his skills. After completing a BA degree in Biochemistry at Northwestern University, he received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, where he served as class president. Dr. Goshtasby completed a 5 year general surgery residency at Pennsylvania State University, serving as Chief Resident during his final year. He then completed a Hand Surgery Fellowship at SUNY Buffalo. Dr. Goshtasby spent 3 more years training in the accredited Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Wright State University, serving as Chief Fellow during his final year. He has performed several thousand procedures during his 9 years of post-graduate training, including nearly two thousand procedures during his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training. Dr. Goshtasby is Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. His work has appeared in national and international publications discussing advances in hand, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgery, earning him several research grants and awards. In 2008, Dr. Goshtasby completed a medical mission to Asuncion, Paraguay where he performed several dozen complex surgeries correcting cleft lip and palate deformities, burn contractures, and hand reconstruction for those in need. Dr. Goshtasby, a member of numerous organizations, including the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, and the Orange County Society of Plastic Surgeons, is on staff at several OC hospitals including Hoag , Saddleback Memorial, and Mission Hospitals.
