Restaurant Week organizers extend promotion

An uptick in business prompted the decision to continue the prix fixe menu program through Saturday.

Half of the 133 eateries that participated in last week’s Orange County Restaurant Week are continuing to offer their prix fixe lunch and dinner menus through Saturday – a sign of the popularity of the semi-annual event, which is held every March and September.

Restaurateurs reported an uptick in business, prompting organizers to continue the program for another seven days.

The restaurants offer $10, $15 and $20 lunch menus, and $20, $30 and $40 dinner menus.

“A three-course meal for $20 is great,” said Orange County Restaurant Week spokeswoman Mona Shah. “A lot of us have been conservative with our spending. This gives them an excuse to splurge and get that dessert or appetizer.”

Among the restaurants continuing the promotion: Lucca Cafe, Spark Woodfire Grill, Sage and Sage on the Coast, Hush, Bistango, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, The Ritz Restaurant & Garden, Bayside, Anaheim White House, 7 Seas and Lulu’s.
