Santa Ana-based SRS Labs Inc., a firm specializing in surround sound, audio enhancement and voice post-processing technologies, unveiled a music player application for Apple devices.
MyTunes Pro and MyTunes Pro HD contain advanced features that enhance the music-listening experience by allowing users to hear their music the way artists first created it in the studio.
Hip hop artist and entrepreneur Murs said, “When the app plays my music collection, it feels like layers of audio and details that normally get buried somewhere in the mix are uncovered, allowing me to hear my tracks and other music the way they were meant to be heard. As a musician, I appreciate that very much, and I’m excited about this amazing app for doing what it does.”
In contrast to existing music players currently available on the App Store, both versions of MyTunes Pro are equipped with SRS audio-processing technologies that enable the apps to pull music, podcast or audio book files from the iTunes library and restore the natural tonality and spatial characteristics of the recorded audio to sound like the listeners are in a recording studio.
“We designed MyTunes Pro to not only restore fidelity and quality to music so that it sounds closer to the original studio recording, but to also put the user in complete control of how their music sounds,” said Allen H. Gharapetian, Apple’s senior vice president of marketing. “We are confident that MyTunes Pro HD and MyTunes Pro will ignite the senses like never before and cause users to fall in love with their digital music library all over again.”
Both versions of the app are available for free from the iTunes App Store: $6.99 on the iPhone or iPod and $9.99 on the iPad.
SRS also created a sweepstakes for the chance to win one of three new Apple iPads with MyTunes Pro apps pre-installed.
