SRS Labs expands its partnership with Westinghouse Digital

Products produced by the Santa Ana-based audio tech firm will be used in Westinghouse LED TVs.

SRS Labs, Inc., a producer of surround sound, audio enhancement and voice-processing technologies, has signed an expanded licensing agreement with Westinghouse Digital to provide the American LCD TV firm with SRS products for its 2012 LED TV line.

“We are very excited to be expanding our partnership with Westinghouse Digital to provide them with an even larger selection of our [products] over the next few years,” said Allen H. Gharapetian, senior vice president of marketing for SRS Labs. “Westinghouse Digital clearly views audio performance as a significant differentiating feature against competitors, as well as one of the key decision-making criteria by customers when shopping for TVs. More importantly, they acknowledge the role great audio plays in impressing their customers right out of the box by delivering an uncompromised and complete entertainment experience, and we are very happy to help them fulfill that goal brilliantly.”

Flat-panel TVs, soundbars, notebooks, media tablets and smartphones tend to leave little room for built-in high-performance speakers. SRS’ patented audio products and the SRS Labs’ engineering team custom tune each make and model so that consumer electronics manufacturers can utilize the highest-quality sound possible.
